Back To School

Couldn't make it all the way to China? The Olympics are here! Join us as we challenge the residents of Lighthouse Youth Crisis Center to an Olympic-style competition. (Note: You may want to bring a change of clothes and athletic shoes!)

One last summer party--before it's time for book bags and notebooks, term papers and quizzes! Date, time and location to be announced!

  Cornhole
Dinner & A Movie

BEAM members and residents of the Lighthouse Youth Crisis Center competed in friendly games of cornhole. Wacky prizes were awarded for the best and worst players!

BEAM, along with residents of Lighthouse Youth Crisis Center, went to the Esquire Theatre for a showing of Juno. Everyone shared candy while enjoying the off-beat comedy.

Community Service

Reds Game

In an honor of National Volunteer Week, Lighthouse Youth Crisis Center residents joined BEAM to clean up the Clifton area. Groups of BEAM members and Crisis Center residents teamed up to collect trash along Jefferson, Clifton, Ludlow and Brookline.

BEAM accompanied residents from Lighthouse New Beginnings and Lighthouse Youth Development Center to Great American Ballpark to see the Cincinnati Reds match up against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

  Ice Skating

BEAM took the young men of Lighthouse Youth Development Center to play laser tag at Cincinnati's Laser Web. BEAM volunteers and Lighthouse staff were beaten handily in two rounds of tag.

In a challenging yet fun and even funnier Sunday afternoon, BEAM and New Beginnings attempted ice skating on Fountain Square. In an unusually warm January day, there were a lot of laughs, slips and falls. Following skating, everyone got to know each other over Graeter's Ice Cream.

Valentine's Day Dance

High school gym. Pink and red streamers. Cut-out red hearts. BEAM took it back and hosted a Valentine's Day Dance, with a twist, for the residents of Lighthouse Youth Crisis Center. The evening featured interactive icebreakers, dance choreography, spoken word and a talent show.
